Sol is a Mexican beer brand that was first introduced in 1899. The brand is currently owned by Heineken International, a Dutch brewing company that also owns other beer brands such as Heineken, Amstel, Dos Equis, and Tecate, among others. Heineken acquired Sol as part of its acquisition of FEMSA Cerveza in 2010. Heineken is also the main distributor of Sol beer globally.
