Hoegaarden is a Belgian wheat beer known for its refreshing taste and citrus and coriander notes. It was first brewed in 1445 but closed in 1957 due to the popularity of pale lagers. However, in 1966, Pierre Celis revived the beer in his barn using the original recipe. The beer was acquired by Interbrew in 1985 (now AB InBev) and is sold in over 70 countries. It is still brewed in the town of Hoegaarden using locally sourced ingredients and is known for its cloudy appearance and smooth taste.
